The Esocentric Tarot Project:

Esocentic Tarot Deck is a large-scale communal art project consisting of images ranging from Victoria romance to post apocalyptic images to blood sports and fire fantasy. This project calls for over 100 models and hundreds of props and costumes.

The deck has been a community project of volunteers and a pleasure to create with them. If the deck goes to print all involved people will be able to purchase the deck(s) at cost. A portion of the proceeds from sale of the deck will be donated to Home Alive and nationa Aids foundations such as the Aids Life Cycle.

I am looking for male and female models to be a part of this project. My model needs range from suggested nudity to complete conservative dress and anonymity. I also need costumers and hairdressers. There is a  more specific list on needs below.

There are 76 cards, plenty of room for everyone. Some cards have been taken so, please list some options. If you are not sure what the cards mean there is an excellent translation here: http://www.learntarot.com/cards.htm Then I will contact you and chat about concepts. If you are not particular to a card then just knowing your talents and desires will help me place you in the deck.

I plan to shoot this over the next few years. I want to be sure each card is worth something standing alone as well as part of the deck.  I’m more interested in getting it right than getting it done quickly.

Dirty Deck Details:

I’ve changed the Major and Minor Arcana to cater to my desires and images. The over arching them is dark decay, and dark beauty, grim fairy tales.

Each suit has a new feel/theme as follows:

Wands/Fire Staffs (Summer)= Adventurous, Brash, Modern Tribal
Swords/Knives (Winter)= Blood Sports, Suspensions, Leather, Sleek PVC, Polished, Raw vision, Bio-Tech
Pentacles/Stones (Fall)=Futuristic Aristocracy with a 17th century post apocalyptic flair. Mad Max meets Marie Antoinette.
Cups/Apples (Spring)= Rotting Beauty, Victorian, Feminine, Soft, Light tones, modern gothic

The Pages will be represented as Princes or Princesses and the Major Arcana stand-alone and each tell a story and are themed within their own translation.

With these changes I have alerted the suit symbology away from the traditional and replacing images like cups with an image of an apple. The changes are:

Wands  -Fire Staffs, Poi, fingers or any object you can light aflame
Swords -Knives, razor blades, needles
Pentacles - Stones, Rocks, Gems, Pebbles, Pits & Pentacles
Cups-Apples and Cups

What I need:

• Models Models Models. Men, Women, Transgender, Dykes Fags, Drag Kings and Queens (all must be over 18 though)
• Acrobats
• Fire Performers/Players
• People willing to be suspended with hooks
• Blood Sports Players- in particular I need a male and female willing to do a crown of thorns (that’s several needles in the crown of your skull)
• Hair dresser who can style me some punky but period 17^th century wigs
• Carpenters to build a wheel of fortune
• Costumers with amazing resources and/or the ability to craft outfits with no budget
• A large enclosed space to shoot the fire performers.

This entire project is going to be built on the kindness of strangers. All shoots will be TFP (trade for print). I offer a digital image of your card for web use only. If you want a physical print I offer those at cost for anything over a 5X7. (5X7 prints are free!)
